A couple of days ago, a friend told me that he hasn't drunk (daaru) for a month. Then, as an afterthought, "That must have improved your opinion of my character?!"
Dude, not drinking doesn't make you better in my opinion because drinking doesn't make you worse. I am just scared to death of alcohol. I have lost friends to drink. Not lost as in we are not friends anymore. Lost as in they are dead and gone and have left me behind with the guilt of not having been able to stop them while I could.
